Decorating a Silver Christmas Tree

We Love Silver Christmas Trees

6 foot Silver Christmas TreeDecorating a Silver Christmas tree is pretty easy, as is decorating most trees, but there are a few specifics to Silver Christmas trees that do not apply to a lot of other trees. First of all, they are already quite ornate; for example you do not need to add tinsel.

There are really three approaches to decorating a Silver Christmas Tree and we’ll go over them here. They range from utter simplicity to progressively more complex designs.

For starters, I like a Christmas Tree Skirt around my tree regardless of how it is decorated!

1) Retro Color Wheel Only:

The first ones I ever saw in the early 60s, when they wereRetro Christmas Tree Color Wheel primarily called Aluminum Christmas trees, had no decorations on them as strange as that may seem. Instead they had a Color Wheel, a mechanized device that rotated a transparent wheel made of glass or plastic that had red, green, blue and yellow sections. A light shone through the color wheel and onto the tree, making it change colors every few seconds. The color wheel was developed primarily as it was considered unsafe to have lights of that era one a metallic tree due to the potential electric shock damage.

Color Wheels are popular again, and may be used alone, or perhaps with a tree with decorations as described below.

2) A Simple Design Adding One Color:

Silver Christmas Tree with Red BallsVery popular, and very beautiful, is very simply decorating, focusing only on adding perhaps only one color and shape. After all, your tree already has a lot of personality!

For example, a Silver Christmas Tree decorated with only Round Red Christmas Ornaments or perhaps Round Blue Christmas Ornaments is absolutely stunning!

The tree shown to the left actually comes with the red ornaments shown!  It's a Retro Style Aluminum Christmas Tree with Red Ball Ornaments,

It's almost 7 feet tall (81 inches tall, 3 feet in diameter, and each branch end has pom pom ends, just like in the 60s !

This one works well with a color wheel as well for the full retro effect!

Of course the single color you add could be a string of lights as well. I love the

3) Too Much Of Everything Is Just Enough

Many people believe that you can never really have too many decorations on the tree. My wife and kids fall under this category! Space them evenly and have a ball decorating.

Remember that even if you do not decorate your Silver Christmas Tree, it will be beautiful. Just like trees in the wild are beautiful, so is yours whatever you do with it!
